Want someone else in the lead role - an uncle, an old friend, whoever’s earned top billing? You can. I’ll handle everything happening backstage.

Here’s something most couples don’t realise: the person who marries you and the person who legally makes it official don’t have to be the same person.

If there’s someone in your life who’d mean more standing up the front - an uncle, an old friend, a sibling - they can be the one running the ceremony. I’ll take care of everything the audience never sees: the legal paperwork, the documents, the parts of the job that actually require a qualified celebrant.

How it works

  1. Pick your person. Anyone - your best friend, your mum, your uncle, your jujitsu instructor. Whoever you actually want standing up front.
  2. They get a crash course. A short series of easy lessons walks them through writing and running your ceremony, start to finish. I'm on hand the whole way if they get stuck.
  3. You choose how the legals get done. You have THREE options: sorted the week before so you're already legally married by the day itself, done quietly on the side sometime on the day, or handled as part of the ceremony while your person runs the show.
  4. You get married. Lessons done, script written, legals sorted - your person delivers the ceremony, and it's every bit as official as if I'd done it myself.
This is built on everything I learned running My Celebrant Buddy - a business founded on being the calm, steady presence behind the scenes, not necessarily the one holding the microphone.
